This past weekend we officially opened the Steel Hawg. Everyone was very excited about the coaster, and raved about the drop and inversions! The coaster is a big hit and I am sure it will continue to be for years to come.
Congratulations to Walter Rodzen who was the 1st place winner in the video contest for Myspace on why he should be the first to ride! Although Walter was unable to be the first official park guest to ride The Steel Hawg, we will be inviting him for our Media Day Celebration of the Hawg, where he will be the first to ride at that time.
This weekend we have a lot going on with our Twins & Triplets, Quads & Quints, their Families & Friends are all invited to participate in our 5th Annual TTQQFF Weekend July 12 & 13 as well as a special appearance from Sponge Bob on Friday from 1-3:30pm in Kiddyland.
I hope to see you out here at the beach this weekend, look for me on my new favorite location, 100ft in the air at the top of the Steel Hawg!

Next week, the state will be out to inspect the coaster so that we are able to open the ride. We anticipate the ride to open on July 4th.
July 4th weekend, we invite everyone out to participate in the festivities at the park. Over the Fourth of July we will have a Magic Show in the Ballroom at 7pm & 9pm on both Friday and Saturday Night, as well as Fireworks over Lake Shafer with a special show on Friday for the Fourth. Today we received our cars for the Steel Hawg! How exciting, before you know it they will be racing around the track. I of course took some pictures to show all of you how sharp these cars look and how the set up is going to be. The Steel Hawg will have 4 of these cars. They sit theatre style so a total of 16 people can be racing around the track. We expect to have these cars on the track by the end of the week to be tested, stay tuned because the official announcement of the opening will be soon…

Starting, this weekend we will have a fireworks show every Friday and Saturday and a Magician will be performing in the ballroom at 6pm & 9pm and in between shows he will be walking the boardwalk.

On another note, Indiana Beach has not experienced the unfortunate flooding that has occured to our south and to our north. The park is fully operational, our thoughts are with those who have.
